At Devine, we take the time to plan our gelato menu daily and make every flavor fresh, the old fashion Italian way. It includes passion, precision, and time. After studying in Italy and completing all their courses, I realized their approach matched up with my approach to making desserts. There are certainly easier and cheaper ways to make gelato, but goes against everything I believe. Additionaly, our gelato toppings and inclusions are made from scratch too. Our fudge, honey caramel, cookies, candied fruits and toasted nuts are all made in house. They are not out of a can or jar. All of the extra time taken is the result of the best gelato in Sacramento, and rates among the best anywhere in the world. It’s award winning. You will not get better gelato anywhere in the world, including Italy. That’s a fact. It’s amazing.
We handcraft all of our bakery items from scratch, just like we do with our gelato. Our big new bakery gives us plenty of space to have a greater selection of all your favorites all of the time — all of the same cakes, pies, cookies and other treats that you have enjoyed for the past 5 years plus new things like breakfast croissants, scones and muffins.
We absolutely believe that "You get out what you put in." We use the highest quality products with as many locally sourced ingredients as possible to create our delicious desserts. Come inside and sit in our casual atmosphere while you enjoy an espresso or coffee drink made with beans from Temple Coffee Roasters. Add a bakery selection, a panini sandwich or a salad.
And, of course, our excellent award-winning fresh made gelato is proudly served daily.
Freshly baked sweet and savory treats daily from the best quality ingredients.

GELATO & SORBETTO
It’s made with local milk and cream (rBST free),
and any other local ingredients our recipe requires. Working with local farmers, our fruit such as strawberries, peaches, berries and Meyer lemons, are picked at the height of their ripeness. Our goal is to capture the natural flavors and sweetness of each fruit at the height of its season and hand craft them into a delicious treat you won’t soon forget.
Any ingredient that we can’t get locally, we searched the world to obtain in order to bring the highest quality possible to our shop. Our chocolate comes from Italy where a family owned business has been making chocolates for over 60 years. They blend the art of cultivating the intensely flavorful bean with the most advanced processing technologies to create exceptional chocolate, and have been passionately crafting chocolate this way for over six decades. This chocolate is made to craft into incredible gelato and baked goods.

"You get out what you put in."
"You get out what you put in." That’s a family philosophy we stick to in every aspect of our life and business. It all started with a passion and desire which runs deep in our core to make the best gelato and baked goods possible. We are committed to using the freshest, highest quality, local ingredients that not only enhances the taste, but supports our community.
We are devoted to making all of our products from scratch. Sure, it means more time and effort, but the difference in quality speaks for itself. Whether its gelato, sorbetto, or baked goods, we think you deserve the best. We invite you to stop in and taste the difference.
From an early age I watched my grandmother and mother make pies and cakes. Just like many American families, we had one of those old wooden ice cream makers, too. Once I was old enough I too began to bake, always from scratch. I had a love for ice cream, but I was
a bit older when I bought a tiny ice cream maker and began to make wonderful small handcrafted batches.
Over the years, making desserts for family and friends I realized it was what I loved to do. With the encouragement and many compliments from my friends I saw my passion resulted in something special, something rare and wonderful. It was my way of being creative. It was my way of making people happy, which gave me joy.
Gelato is Italy’s version of ice cream. It is crafted from milk, cream and sugar. However, there are several key differences between our gelato and ice cream.
When crafting gelato, we incorporate less air. Gelato only has about 40% air whipped into it as it is being frozen. Ice cream incorporates up to 100%. Therefore, gelato is denser, and has a velvety texture. It also means you get more to eat in your cup!
Gelato is held at a warmer temperature than ice cream, 5 degrees Fahrenheit, versus minus 10 degrees. The result is that your palate isn’t shocked by the freezing cold, and is able to “taste” what you are eating. You won’t get brain freeze here!
