The Sacramento chapter of Slow Food, a National organization that recognizes food establishments for using local fresh ingredients to craft their food, awarded Devine a “snail” award last night!
Slow Food Sacramento is a movement opposite of Fast food. They encourage the use of local fresh ingredients, recycling, composting, and a return to delicious artisan foods.
All of us at Devine are very excited to receive such an award so early on in our career!

We craft our gelato fresh every morning at Devine. It is made with local milk and cream (rBST free), and any other local ingredients our recipe requires. Working with local farmers, our fruit such as; strawberries, peaches, berries and meyer lemons, are picked at the height of their ripeness. Our goal is to capture the natural flavors and sweetness of each fruit at the height of its season and hand craft them into a delicious treat you won’t soon forget.
Any ingredient that we can’t get locally, we searched the world to obtain in order to bring the highest quality possible to our shop. Our chocolate comes from Italy where a family owned business has been making chocolates for over 60 years. They blend the art of cultivating the intensely flavorful bean with the most advanced processing technologies to create exceptional chocolate, and have been passionately crafting chocolate this way for over six decades. This chocolate is made to craft into incredible gelato and baked goods.
Our pistachios come from Bronte, Sicily, which is known to have some of the world’s best, but we are blending them with the wonderful California grown pistachios from just down the valley near Fresno. We think our California pistachios are pretty special too.
We look for perfection in every batch of gelato and sorbetto we make. The perfect texture and the delicate balance of exquisite tastes is why we are unique.
What all this means to you is a return to something that has been lost, something your grandmother or great grandmother did every day. It will be a treat that is being made taking no short cuts, using the best ingredients, with passion, and with pride to get a result that will delight you with every bite.
